This piece is made out of cardboard. When I created this piece a while ago, I decided to work with materials that represented nature. I used rose petals and butterflies because that was something that I used to collect when I was younger.
For this image, I used one filter only(crosshatch). I outlined the main image making use of the pen tool. I also enhanced the main image and background color using shape layers, gradients, and adjustment layers fills to get a better contrast.
I took this picture in Kona couple of years ago. I created this image for our final project this summer, which turned out to be really fun. I played with filters to improve the quality of the picture, which had a low resolution.
I love Jules Cheret's work, as we all know he is well known in graphic design for his early work as a poster designer. He pretty much set up a style that everybody started to follow in the 1870's to today. This piece shows the progression of poster design throughout history.
I used at least 4 different images to create this piece. I created it originally for a homework, and then I just started having fun adding more images to it.
